Xi Jinping Emphasizes a Correct View of Political Achievement
News Details
On August 24, 2026, General Secretary Xi Jinping issued important instructions emphasizing that establishing and practicing a correct view of political achievement is a long-term task requiring persistent effort. We must continuously consolidate and expand the results of our study and education, while driving Party organizations at all levels—along with the vast number of Party members and officials—to govern for the public good, work for the people's well-being, make scientific decisions, and engage in pragmatic action. We must strive to achieve tangible results that stand the test of practice, the people, and history. Through in-depth study and comprehension, I have gained the following insights and understanding.
General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions chart the course for consolidating and expanding the results of our study and education; their core essence can be summarized as "four areas of focus":
First, focus on conducting regular education regarding the correct view of political achievement. Priority should be placed on the education and training of top local Party and government officials, newly promoted officials, young officials, and those in key positions. We must strengthen the role of role models and negative examples, guiding Party members and officials to always shoulder their responsibilities and perform their duties based on a correct view of political achievement.
Second, focus on the routine identification and rectification of issues. We must closely monitor and track the effectiveness of rectifying prominent deviations in the view of political achievement that require long-term correction, and deepen efforts to address the issue of "new officials ignoring old debts" (failure to address legacy problems). By utilizing mechanisms such as inspections, audits, and statistical oversight to pinpoint issues precisely, we can enhance the targeted nature and depth of our approach, thereby solidly advancing rectification.
Third, focus on effectively utilizing the "baton" of performance assessment. We must refine differentiated assessment and evaluation systems and establish a personnel selection and appointment orientation that prioritizes practical action and tangible results. This ensures that officials who dare to take responsibility, show courage in their duties, excel in action, and achieve outstanding results are given important roles.
We must deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s thinking on Party building and the spirit of his important instructions, embedding the correct view of political achievement into our very souls and putting it into practice. We must always maintain the mindset that "success need not be credited to me personally" while upholding the historical sense of responsibility that "success will certainly include my contribution."
